Extending outreach to communities disadvantaged by distance and language

Positive Partnerships has expanded its collaboration with the Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism through additional funding from the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

Since 2013, the Autism CRC has invested in an educational research program, presently comprising 16 projects. Positive Partnerships will work closely with the Autism CRC to:

  • Extend the reach of educational research and pilot projects beyond that of the current program, with a focus on more disadvantaged communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander, regional and remote, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
  • Facilitate national dissemination and implementation of best practice in supporting students on the autism spectrum.

Positive Partnerships will draw on the emerging findings from the range of Autism CRC projects and research to ensure that our resources for school staff and parents and carers continue to reflect best practice approaches to supporting children on the autism spectrum.
